Things to Do in Paphos - Attractions - Tourist Activities
Paphos (also spelled Pafos) has a population of only 27,000, it is the capital of Cyprus' western region. Most work as employees in various branches of tourism, because there is not much industry. Consequently there are many activites for tourists & some great things to do during your stay.
Paphos consists of two areas: the coastal resort area (Kato Paphos) and the town itself (Pano Paphos) which is slightly inland. Paphos International Airport is the best way to get to Paphos rather than flying to Larnaca (the larger airport closer to the Eastern half of the island).
Among its attractions are its ancient mosaic floors, the Troodos mountains, its beautiful old harbour, its modern hotels and restaurants, situated along the seaside promenade.Other sights include an archaeological museum, the Byzantine castle of Paphos, the Tombs of the Kings, St. Paul’s Pillar and the Temple of Aphrodite (the goddess of love and beauty).
